I've had a blog for over 8 years, and the themes and topics have morphed alongside my career and hobbies. Since I came to Microsoft in 2005, the site had largely gone fallow, used primarily as a place to share photos and stories with friends and family.   In September and October of 2008, I was doing a huge amount of research as a result of national and local elections, and the state of the economy.
